About us.
Tyler Placenta Encapsulation is owned and operated by Mercy Eizenga, a 12-year veteran in placenta encapsulation. In 2013, Mercy started encapsulating for the clients of her other business, Comforts of Home Midwifery. The following year, she purchased Dallas Placenta Encapsulation from another midwife. Mercy was the third owner of that business. In January of 2020, she sold the placenta encapsulation portion of her practice and moved to Tyler, Texas.
Mercy offer unmatched quality standards. Most companies will not tell you that there is no such thing as a governing board or centralized certification process to call oneself a “certified encapsulation specialist”. Many companies offer educational courses on the process and then provide a certificate of the course, but again, this is not governed by any central or governmental agency. Tyler Placenta Encapsulation strictly adheres to OSHA’s standard of sanitation and PPE. Only one placenta is encapsulated at a time to ensure there is zero cross-contamination. Every placenta, the shelf it sits on in the refrigerator, the dehydrator, encapsulation machine, and packaging are labeled with the client’s name, the date, and the preparation process to ensure the client receives her placenta prepared properly.
Direct access to Mercy 24/7/365. There is no such thing as an answering service or business hours. Babies are born at all times of day, but a vast majority arrive late in the evening or early morning.
Client advocacy.. One of the areas most placenta encapsulation companies are severely lacking is advocacy for their clients. Many states have legislation that protects a woman’s right to her placenta, in its entirety (Texas HB1670). However, this does not deter some facilities or providers from manipulating their patients into not keeping their placentas or outright taking the placenta from the client. Mercy’s clients have unfettered access to Mercy, who will help advocate for them. This leads to a much higher success rate of their placenta safely leaving the facility.
Secured chain of custody, Tyler Placenta Encapsulation does not contract out with medical couriers for two reasons: 1. Keeping the cost to the client as affordable as possible, 2. Guaranteeing a secure chain of custody for the placenta. Placentas are irreplaceable organs that have been perfectly curated for each woman by her very own body. Entrusting an unknown individual to transport the placentas is not a risk Tyler Placenta is willing to take. Having our placenta encapsulation specialist transport the placentas, we guarantee the security and proper allocation of each one.
